Full -Time Doggie Daycare Team Member

Petal Animal Clinic is looking for an outgoing, highly motivated Doggie Daycare Team Member to join our veterinary team. This position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working with both pets and people while helping create a safe, clean, and fun daycare environment for our patients.

You will be representing a well-established veterinary practice committed to excellence in pet healthcare and exceptional client service.

Position Details:

This is a full-time position with the following schedule:

• Monday–Friday: 7:30am-5:30pm
• Some holiday kennel shifts required 

Important Scheduling Requirement

This position is not intended to be a “summer-only” role. Applicants must be available to continue working this schedule not only during the summer, but also throughout the fall season. Dependability and long-term availability are extremely important for this role.

What You’ll Do

As a Doggie Daycare Team Member, you will help maintain excellence in pet care by:

• Supervising dogs in group play while ensuring safety and minimizing stress 
• Maintaining constant visual observation of daycare groups 
• Using proper dog handling techniques as trained by management 
• Reporting unusual behavior, illness signs, injuries, or concerns immediately 
• Cleaning and disinfecting daycare rooms and outdoor play areas 
• Promptly cleaning up pet waste 
• Greeting and assisting clients professionally 
• Working respectfully with veterinary team members to ensure a positive client experience 

This is a physically active role that is outdoors and requires multitasking, awareness, and teamwork.

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has excellent customer service and communication skills 
• Loves people as much as pets 
• Is dependable and flexible 
• Can recognize potential signs of illness in pets 
• Has internet access to receive schedules and clinic communication 
• Can stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds (more with assistance) 
• Can work comfortably in hot, cold, or rainy weather conditions 
• Works well independently and as part of a team 

Previous dog daycare or animal care experience is preferred, but not required.

• Does not work well in a team environment 
• Needs constant direction to stay productive 
• Cannot handle fast-paced or sometimes stressful situations 
• Is unwilling to work occasional holiday shifts
