Job Summary:
The DevOPS/Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and supporting cloud infrastructure and digital products with a strong focus on AWS environments, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, container platforms, CI/CD pipelines, security, and observability. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of cloud applications through automation, monitoring, and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure including VPCs, subnets, security groups, IAM policies, EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, Route 53, and CloudFront.
- Architect multi-account AWS environments following AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
- Manage AWS cost optimization strategies such as Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and rightsizing.
- Develop, maintain, and refactor Terraform modules and configurations for cloud infrastructure.
- Manage Terraform Cloud workspaces, remote state backends, and enforce Infrastructure as Code standards.
- Author and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections for server configuration, application deployment, and compliance enforcement.
- Operate and administer Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) clusters including upgrades, scaling, and add-on management.
- Define and enforce OpenShift RBAC, NetworkPolicies, and SecurityContextConstraints.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Azure DevOps Service integrating security scanning and GitOps workflows.
- Embed security controls throughout infrastructure and CI/CD lifecycles, implement secrets management, and support vulnerability management processes.
- Build and maintain observability solutions with AWS CloudWatch, define SLOs/SLIs, lead incident response, and produce runbooks and architectural decision records.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and architecture (VPC, EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, Route 53, CloudFront).
- Strong proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, including module development and Terraform Cloud management.
- Expertise in Ansible for configuration management, playbook authoring, and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience operating Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) clusters.
- Proven ability to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or Azure DevOps Service.
- Knowledge of container orchestration, security best practices, and secrets management (e.g., AWS Secrets Manager).
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
- Familiarity with security compliance, vulnerability management, and incident response procedures.
- Experience with AWS cost optimization and multi-account environment management.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with additional cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.
- Familiarity with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Chef or Puppet.
- Understanding of mobile device management and modern web technologies (LAMP, Drupal, Elasticsearch).
- Certification in AWS, Terraform, Ansible, or OpenShift is advantageous.
Special Considerations:
- Must be available for 5 days onsite as required.
- Participation in on-call incident response and post-mortem processes.
- Adherence to strict security and compliance standards in cloud environments.
Scheduling:
- Standard work schedule with potential on-call duties for incident management.
- Shift patterns may include support during critical incidents outside regular hours.
