Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Post procedural cardiac experience (cath lab, ablations, open heart) - Ability to read and interpret telemetry and document appropriately - Preferred experience in PCU and Stepdown Description: Telemetry unit requires a registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Candidates are expected to float between different telemetry units as needed. The unit typically has 20 beds and a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4. Common diagnoses include cardiac focus, post-op procedural cases, heart failure, sepsis, and electrolyte imbalances. The position requires the ability to manage and interpret telemetry readings. Common titratable and set rate infusions include cardiac drip medications. Registered nurses are expected to work with remote telemetry techs and assist with high respiratory needs as required. There is a charge nurse on each shift who may take patient assignments if necessary. Nurse aids and patient care techs are available, with typical ratios depending on staffing and census. Weekend shifts are required, with a maximum of 5 consecutive shifts. Consideration is given to grouping days for night shifts when possible. Travelers are prioritized for floating shifts within the facility. The facility is traveler-friendly, treating travelers as permanent staff and encouraging extensions.
