High School Spanish Teacher Vacancy (2026-2027 School Year) St. Edmund Preparatory High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our Foreign Languages Department for the 2026-2027 academic year. Located in Brooklyn, New York, St. Edmund Preparatory High School is a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory, and International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We provide a rigorous academic program that challenges students to achieve excellence while fostering intellectual curiosity, faith formation, and global awareness. Through personalized instruction and meaningful learning experiences, we challenge every student to reach their fullest potential. Position Responsibilities The successful candidate will:

• Provide engaging, rigorous, and high-quality Spanish instruction to students at multiple proficiency levels.
• Develop and implement creative, standards-based lesson plans that promote active learning, critical thinking, and language acquisition.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that supports student growth, engagement, and academic success.
• Teach a range of Spanish courses and demonstrate a willingness to teach at the International Baccalaureate (IB) level.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Foreign Languages Department and across disciplines to support student achievement and curriculum development.
• Integrate technology and innovative instructional practices to enhance learning.
• Support the Catholic mission and values of the school through professional conduct and commitment to student development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Foreign Language Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• New York State Teaching Certification (or eligibility for certification) preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish and a strong knowledge of language pedagogy.
• Experience teaching secondary-level Spanish preferred.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn the International Baccalaureate curriculum.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
