Job Summary:

The Senior Full Stack Software Developer will leverage their expertise in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) to support and enhance the Ceres application, a platform designed for plant health data management. This role involves designing and implementing application improvements, maintaining technical documentation, supporting governance reviews, and ensuring alignment with operational standards. The position is on-site and requires collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver secure, accessible, and efficient software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements, bug fixes, and technical improvements to the Ceres application.
• Maintain and update project architecture documents and solution design artifacts including models and diagrams.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation such as build books, deployment procedures, release management, and operational support documents.
• Support governance reviews by providing technical input and ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure solution alignment with functional, technical, security, privacy, integration, and cloud requirements.
• Assist with knowledge transfer activities and vendor offboarding documentation to support operational continuity.
• Work within Agile software delivery environments to meet evolving business needs.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• 7+ years of full-stack development experience using the MERN technology stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
• 4+ years of experience developing, maintaining, and updating comprehensive technical documentation.
• Proven experience designing and implementing application enhancements compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices and authentication protocols including OAuth 2.0 and SAML.
• Experience updating and maintaining solution design artifacts, models, diagrams, and supporting documentation.
• Strong collaboration skills with business and technical stakeholders to ensure solution compliance and alignment.
• Experience supporting architecture, security, privacy, and governance review processes.
• Proven ability to provide knowledge transfer to support operational continuity.
• Experience with source control, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Azure DevOps and Git.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience building and deploying cloud-native solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with agricultural data collection and analysis applications.
• Knowledge of Government of Ontario Information and Technology Standards (GO-ITS).

Special Considerations:

• Position requires on-site presence at either 40 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto or 1 Stone Road West, Guelph.
• Work must comply with accessibility standards (AODA) and security protocols.
• Vendor offboarding and knowledge transfer documentation are mandatory for operational continuity.

Scheduling:

• Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with 7.25 hours of work per calendar day excluding lunch breaks.
• Five days per week on-site attendance is required.
