Position Overview

We are seeking a highly autonomous, code-fluent, and development-oriented Mid-Level Power BI Developer (AWS & Python) to drive the implementation, data engineering, and data visualization layers backing a high-leverage corporate analytics platform under a permanent, 100% remote contractor configuration within Spain. Sitting within our core Data & Technologies division, you will manage end-to-end dashboard execution, blending robust reporting infrastructure alongside serverless backend computation layers. Shifting completely away from routine non-regulated data transcription loops, entry-level styling fixes, or generic administrative spreadsheets logging, you will operate an active multi-tenant data modeling, automated ETL streaming, and Python microservice laboratory. Partnering directly beside distributed database engineers, cloud architects, and corporate business teams, you will turn complex cloud telemetry into actionable technical solutions. This position requires an business intelligence authority with 4–5 years of tracking history who handles metrics fields fluidly natively using Power BI, Data Analyst, and Python primitives, optimizes complex DAX functions under load, and aligns backend data processing pipelines autonomously.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Intelligence Governance: Design, develop, scale, and maintain interactive, high-performance Power BI dashboards and business intelligence reporting assets tailored tightly to stakeholder requirements natively utilizing Power BI infrastructure.
• Advanced Relational Data Modeling: Model, transform, and clean nested backend datasets, establishing robust semantic schemas, optimized table partitions, and performant calculations natively deploying Data Analyst primitives.
• Cloud System Pipeline Integration: Integrate front-end report suites cleanly next to cloud-native data architectures and ingestion layers, ensuring stable connectivity across centralized data storage environments.
• Serverless Microservice Customization: Program, test, and maintain structured data processing scripts and automation tasks natively leveraging Python within serverless infrastructure architectures.
• Query Telemetry Optimization: Profile and tune analytical queries, data refresh frequencies, composite models, and massive underlying datasets to minimize system latency and maximize calculation velocity.
• Technical Translation & Scoping: Collaborate alongside distributed cross-functional data engineering teams and strategic business owners to translate abstract analytical questions into crisp technical blueprints.
• Observability & Quality Control: Enforce data validation safety nets and automated regression checkmarks to secure the absolute scalability, reliability, and security compliance of every delivered BI tool.
• Architecture Documentation Engineering: Author and maintain clean developer logs, semantic data dictionaries, and cloud interaction map repositories to promote knowledge sharing within global technology teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• A minimum of 4–5 years of proven, successful professional technology experience operating as a dedicated Power BI Developer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Analyst, or closely matching tech-centric reporting capacity.
• Expert Analytical Engineering Command: Meticulous practical experience constructing complex calculated columns, multi-tier measurement rules, and custom time-intelligence queries natively utilizing **DAX** and Power Query (M).
• Production-grade operational literacy configuring, deploying, and debugging serverless automation scripts natively written in Python for backend data manipulation.
• Hands-on tracking experience navigating enterprise cloud infrastructures, with focused exposure manipulating serverless functions explicitly inside **AWS (such as AWS Lambda, S3, or Athena)** frameworks.
• Solid background utilizing relational database infrastructure, query optimization engines, and modern transactional data transformation workflows.
• Outstanding written and verbal presentation communication strengths in English, with a documented ability to work independently within a full-time CET/CEST time zone window and coordinate end-to-end solutions autonomously.
• Location Context: Position operates under 100% remote freelancer parameters open exclusively to qualified full-stack business intelligence and data engineering authorities residing permanently within Spain (with a focus on Málaga or proximal regional hubs) .

• Prior platform or consulting history building automated growth analytics tools explicitly inside the **banking, enterprise financial services, energy, or industrial supply chain sectors**.
• Direct operational familiarity utilizing microservices environments, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, or automated DevOps monitoring setups.
• Grounded familiarity with scalable cloud data warehousing structures, data mesh topologies, or multi-source semantic mesh rules.
