Every day we have the distinct honor and responsibility to show up with non-judgmental compassion to provide hope and healing to those who need it most. For those whose calling it is to serve others, now is your moment to join our mission to provide quality care to every patient with compassion, collaboration, and innovation, to live our mantra to “Always Do The Right Thing!”, and to collectively do our part to heal the world, one patient at a time.

Wellpath sees hundreds of thousands of unique individuals in their facilities month over month and a very large percent of those individuals receive direct clinical care, which includes lives saved by Narcan.

We offer ongoing training and development opportunities for licensed and unlicensed healthcare team members, and have best in class clinical resources for training, education, and point of care support.

How you make a difference

The Mental Health Technician (ARDOC) (MHT) plays a vital role in providing mental health services to patients within the facility, working under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor. They are responsible for conducting assessments, providing therapy, and supporting patients in their recovery journey. Additionally, they provide consultation and training to facility personnel to promote a better understanding of mental health issues and how to effectively support patients in their care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health services and conduct regular mental health checks and rounds with patients under the direction of a licensed Mental Health Professional in accordance with relevant professional organizations and state guidelines.
  • Provide psycho-social-educational programming and activities for groups and individuals to improve the social, cognitive, problem-solving, and daily living skills of incarcerated patients.
  • Triage mental health concerns of incarcerated patients and provide consultation services as assigned.
  • Participate in release continuity of care planning for patients, train staff in human behavior and mental health issues, and maintain patient confidentiality while interrelating effectively with patients, staff, and outside support agencies.
  • Comply with employee standards of the facility, apply principles of critical thinking, sound judgment, and work under stress on a regular basis.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in mental health/social science field from an accredited college or university. (Professional experience, trainings and applicable certifications may be considered in lieu of educational requirements on a case-by-case basis.)

Experience

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must maintain CPR certification, and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required by contract.
