Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Columbkille Catholic School is seeking a caring, positive, and dependable Kindergarten Teacher Aide to support our kindergarten program for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, collaborates well with teachers, and helps foster a safe, faith-filled, and engaging classroom environment.

- Assisting kindergarten teachers with daily classroom activities and routines
- Supporting students individually and in small groups
- Helping prepare instructional materials and classroom projects
- Supervising students during classroom transitions, recess, lunch, and other activities as needed
- Assisting with classroom organization, cleanup, and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Reinforcing classroom expectations and procedures
- Supporting the Catholic mission and values of the school
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Performing other duties as assigned by the principal or classroom teacher

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work positively and collaboratively with young children and staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing demeanor
- Ability to follow teacher direction and work independently when needed
- Basic organizational and classroom management skills
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education
- Dependability, professionalism, and willingness to be part of a team

Education and Experience
- Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or related setting preferred
- Safe Environment Certification completed or willingness to complete training requirements
