Job Description

I. Summary of the position:

The Director of Children’s Ministry provides leadership, vision, and oversight for all BRAVE Church Children’s Ministry programming at their assigned campus. This role is responsible for cultivating a Christ‑centered environment where children are loved and discipled, while leading, managing, and holding accountable the teams and systems that support ministry excellence. Success in this position requires strong leadership, build and maintain relationships, organizational skills, team development, problem‑solving ability, initiative, and a collaborative spirit.

II. Key Responsibilities:

· Build and Lead a Strong Volunteer Team — Recruit, schedule, and support volunteers for Sunday services, mid‑week programming, and special events, ensuring adequate coverage and backfilling as needed for absences or fluctuating class sizes.

· Train and Equip Volunteers — Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development for all Kids Ministry volunteers. Create and maintain clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, safety, and excellence across all classrooms.

· Cast Vision and Plan for Growth — Champion the mission and vision of BRAVE Kids Ministry. Anticipate ministry needs, plan for future growth, and implement strategies that support a thriving, Christ‑centered environment for children and families.

· Prepare and Manage Curriculum — Organize weekly lesson plans, distribute teaching materials, and equip classroom leaders with everything needed to deliver engaging, biblically grounded instruction.

· Oversee Classroom Setup and Logistics — Ensure all classrooms are properly prepared with supplies, materials, and resources for Sunday services, mid‑week programs, and special events.

· Cultivate Relational Warmth — Maintain an approachable, welcoming, and personable presence that fosters trust, encourages conversation, and supports strong relationships with children, parents, and volunteers.

· Situational Conversations — Ability to navigate sensitive, and difficult conversations with parents and volunteers with discernment and care, addressing concerns promptly and respectfully while upholding the ministry’s values and supporting the well‑being of children, families, and team members.

· Demonstrate Strong Biblical Knowledge — Confidently communicate biblical truths and the gospel to children in age‑appropriate, engaging ways, modeling a vibrant and mature Christian faith.

III. Experience and Knowledge Required:

· 3+ years of Children’s Ministry experience preferred , with demonstrated effectiveness in leading teams and supporting spiritual formation in children.

· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills , with the ability to communicate clearly, compassionately, and persuasively in both written and verbal formats.

· Proven organizational and leadership abilities , capable of managing multiple priorities, coordinating teams, and maintaining ministry excellence.

· Highly organized and detail‑oriented , ensuring accuracy, consistency, and follow‑through in all ministry operations.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel , with the ability to learn additional ministry‑related software as needed.

· Adaptable and flexible , able to multitask, adjust plans quickly, and respond effectively to changing ministry needs.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
